The Corporate Affairs Committee of the MCUP organized a special interactive session on "Stock Market vis-à-vis Current Economy." The keynote speaker was Mr. Rajiv Agarwal, who brings extensive experience and insightful perspectives on the stock market, investment strategies, and the current economic landscape.

7th February, 2026 An interactive session Union Budget 2026-27 was organized by the MCUP in association with Kanpur Income Tax Bar Association & Kanpur Chartered Accountants Society. The keynote speaker of the session was CA (Dr.) D. R Agarwal.

5th February, 2026 A special talk show on "India's Path Ahead Amid Trump's Turbulence, China's Game, Russia's Resilience, and More" was organized by the Industry Committee. The keynote speakers included Major General (Retd.) Rajiv Narayanan, Colonel (Retd.) Ajay K. Raina, and Aadi Achint of the popular YouTube channel YT-DEF Talks.

4th February, 2026 A press conference organized by the Industry Committee of the MCUP shared details of the upcoming event, "India's Path Ahead Amid Trump's Turbulence, China's Game, Russia's Resilience and More." This important event will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026. The press conference was addressed by Sushil Sharma (Chairman, Industry Committee), Shivansh Mehra (Member, Industry Committee) and Prabhat Mishra (Chief Operating Officer, MCUP).

A full day seminar on Aroma, Agarbatti & Cosmetics - Prospectus & Export from UP was jointly organized by the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur, Aroma Federation of India and Fragrance and Flavor Development Centre (FFDC) Headquarters, Kannauj. Essential Association of India, Noida, Fragrances and Flavor Association of India, Mumbai and Sugandh Vyapar Sangh, Delhi were present as associate organizations in this program.

A Budget Viewing Session on the occasion of Union Budget 2026 was organized by the Fiscal Committee of MCUP, in which the budget was telecasted live on the big screen.

MCUP organized a flag hoisting ceremony on the auspicious occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India. On this solemn occasion, Honorable Shri Ram Ji, Prant Pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), graced the event as the Chief Guest and unfurled the national flag.

Health and Lifestyle Management Committee of MCUP organized a special, thought-provoking, and informative session on health and lifestyle. Renowned speaker and expert Dr. Awadh Dubey highlighted the purpose of life and the importance of maintaining a positive outlook in his talk titled “Purpose of Life.” Senior physician Dr. A. S. Prasad shared valuable insights on bone and joint health for all age groups in his presentation “Secrets of Bones and Joints – Essential Tips for All Ages.”

The Information and Technology Committee of the MCUP organized a discussion session on the topic "AI: Bubble, Breakthrough, or Something Else? An Economic Perspective." The keynote speaker was Prof. Vimal Kumar (IIT Kanpur).

Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh, along with key organizations like the Kanpur Income Tax Bar Association, Sales Tax Bar Association, Kanpur Chartered Accountants Society, and Association of GST Tribunal Practitioners and knowledge Partner Dharmendra Academy hosted an insightful seminar on 'Disputed Points of GST & Procedure for Filing Appeal in GST Tribunal Bench' at the Sir Padampat Singhania Auditorium. Keynote speakers of the session was CA Pritam Mahure from Pune and CA Arpit Haldia, from Jodhpur.

A Stakeholder Consultation workshop was organized by the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh jointly with Federation of Indian Export Organization (FIEO). The Keynote Speaker of the workshop were Dr. Shilpi Kapur, Senior Vice-president, EMC and Mr. Gaurao Chopade, Senior Environmental Engineer, EMC.

A program of “Annual Yadupati Singhania Memorial Lecture” was organized by Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh in Association with Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Management & Research. The Chief guest of the program was Prof. S. Somanath, Former Chairman, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

A Blood Donation Camp was organized on the occasion of Blood Donation Day on 1st October, jointly by the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh and the Indian Red Cross Society.

93rd Annual General Meeting of the Chamber was held in which Shri Abhishek Singhania was elected as the President and Shri Mayank Khanna as the Vice-President for the year 2025-26. Additionally, 15 Council Members were also elected for the financial year 2025-26.

An important seminar on the topic “FSSAI: Challenges of Compliance and Enforcement of Indian Food Safety” was jointly organized by the Trade Committee of the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh and the Kanpur Hotel and Restaurant Association. The Chief Guest of the seminar was Prof. Shamsher, Vice Chancellor of HBTU, Kanpur. Mr. Jitendra Pratap Singh, District Magistrate of Kanpur Nagar, graced the occasion as the Special Guest. As the subject expert, Mr. Sanjay Pratap Singh, Assistant Commissioner, FSSAI, provided in-depth insights and shared comprehensive information related to the topic.

A press conference organized by Trade Committee of the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh, information was shared about the upcoming workshop “FSSAI: Challenges of Compliance and Enforcement of Food Safety of India” to be held on 10.09.2025. The Health and Lifestyle Management Committee of the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh organized a session on "Love Your Heart - Prevent Before Damage". The keynote speaker of the program was Prof. (Dr.) J.P.S. Sawhni, Chairman, Department of Cardiology, Sir Ganga Hospital, New Delhi.

A workshop on the topic "Government's ONDC Scheme and NSIC Schemes" was organized under the joint aegis of the Industry Committee of the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh and the National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC). On this occasion, senior officials of the National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) were present as keynote speakers.

A special "GST Workshop" was organized by the GST Committee of the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh. On this occasion, the keynote speakers of the program were Mr. Samuel Paul, NIAS, Additional Commissioner (Grade-1), Zone-1 and Mr. R.S. Vidyarthi, Additional Commissioner (Grade-1), Zone-2. Apart from this, other senior officers of the State Tax Department also participated in the session.

On the auspicious occasion of 79th Independence Day, a flag hoisting program was organized. The flag hoisting was done by the past president of the Chamber, Dr. I.M. Rohatgi. On this occasion, all the members present collectively sang the national anthem and saluted the tricolor with reverence.

The Trade Committee of the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh organized a seminar on the topic of “Joint Family and Family Enterprise” and a felicitation ceremony of the “Newly Passed Chartered Accountants”

The Information Technology Committee of the MCUP organized a special lecture on the topic "Practical Aspects of Cyber Security, Digital Arrest and Frauds" today at the Sir Padampat Singhania Auditorium. The keynote speaker of the program was Prof. Sandeep K. Saxena (Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kanpur and newly appointed Director, IIIT Hyderabad).

A Press Conference was organized by the Information and Technology Committee of the MCUP to announce an important public awareness program aimed at educating citizens about practical aspects of cyber security, digital arrests and frauds. In this program, Professor Sandeep K. Shukla, Professor (HAG), Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kanpur and recently appointed Director of IIIT Hyderabad, will share his practical experiences as the keynote speaker. The Press Conference was addressed by CA Mukul Tandon, Past President MCUP, CA Sudhindra Jain, Council Member, MCUP, CA Manu Agarwal, Advisor, I&T Committee, CA Anil K Saxena, Chairman, I&T Committee, CA Chhavi Jain, CA Amit Pandey, Members I&T Committee.

The Fiscal Committee of the MCUP organized a session on the topic "Trump's Tariff: Impact on India and Geopolitics". The keynote speaker in this session was Prof. Vimal Kumar (IIT Kanpur).

An inspirational session on "Life - in a Quest of Happiness" was organized by the Health and Lifestyle Management Committee of the MCUP. The keynote speaker for the session was Prof. Mohandas Hegde, Director, Heartfulness Research Centre, Hyderabad.

In the scorching heat, Sharbat distribution was organized by the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh in the memory of Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania ji for the general public from 11:00 am to 05:00 pm, in which about 4500 passersby enjoyed sweet and cold Sharbat and praised the Chamber profusely for this noble deed. (ii) On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania, the Cultural Committee organized “Bhoole-Bisre Geet (Musical Evening of Sweet Songs)”.

The Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh (MCUP) hosted a thought-provoking talk show titled “Intelligence in Action: India's Strategic Manoeuvres in Geopolitical Dynamics.” The keynote speakers included Col. R.S.N. Singh (Retd.), Former R&AW Officer; Shri Aadi Achint, Founder of YT-DEF Talks; and Col. Ajay K. Rain (Retd.), who collectively provided deep insights into India's evolving strategic landscape.

A special lecture program was organized under the aegis of the Health & Lifestyle Committee of the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh. On this occasion, renowned endocrinologist and Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Ambrish Mithal delivered the keynote address, sharing valuable insights on health and wellness.

A press conference was held to announce two major upcoming events at the MCUP: 1. "Special Health Talk by Padma Bhushan Awardee Dr. Ambrish Mithal" scheduled for 4th May, 2025 at 5:00 PM. 2. A seminar on "Gurukul Education: Ancient Wisdom, Modern Scientific and Technological Developments" was organized by the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh (MCUP). The keynote speaker for the session was Acharya (Dr.) Deepak Koirala, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Indic Studies, Gujarat University.

The Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh (MCUP), in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO), organized a special training program on the “Trade Connect Portal.” The session aimed to raise awareness among the trading community about the digital initiatives of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and to connect them with modern technological tools. The key note Speaker was Shri Rajan Joshi, Assistant Director General, DGFT.

An interactive session - “Mastering wealth in a changing world: Investment Strategies from India’s top experts” was organized by the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh with Julius Bar at Kamla Retreat. Guest Speakers of the session was Shri Umang Papneja, CEO, Julius Baer India, Shri Vikas Khemani Founder, Carnelian Asset Advisors, Prashant Jain, Founder and CIO, SP Investment Manager.

The renovated Sir Padampat Singhania Auditorium of the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh was inaugurated by the Chief Patron of the Chamber, Smt. Sushila Devi Singhania. Equipped with modern facilities, fully Air conditoned, 19*8 size LED screen for the first time in Kanpur, in-house sound and lighting, generator backup and fully wi-fi enabled auditorium having seating capacity of 350 this auditorium is fully prepared to give a new height to industry and trade, art and cultural activities.

The delegation of Merchants Chamber comprising Shri Shyam Mehrotra, Advisor, Infrastructure Committee, Shri Manish Kataria, Chairman, Infrastructure Committee, Shri Narendra Dalmia and Shri Mahendra Modi, Secretary met Shri Ramesh Awasthi Ji, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Kanpur Nagar, where they discussed traffic problems in the city and development of the city and presented a representation.

76th Republic Day Celebration was held at MCUP. Unfurling of the Flag was done by Shri Ramesh Awasthi ji, Honorable MP, Kanpur Nagar.

An interactive session - “India’s Geopolitics- Future of Rise of Bharat” was organized by the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh at Kamla Retreat. Guest Speakers of the session was Mr. Aadi Anchit, YT-DEF Talks, Mr. Rajiv Naryanan, Maj Gen (Retd), Mr. Ajay K Raina, Colonel (Retd).

A Seminar on “Use of AI in Audit and GST” was organised by Information & Technology Committee jointly with kanpur GST (CA) Association.

An outreach program on “Provisions of PMLA, 2002, its requirements for audit and compliance” was jointly organized with Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO), UP Sarafa Association and Directorate General of Audit. Key Note Speaker of the session was Shri Ramesh Kumar, Additional Director General, DG Audit, Delhi Zone, CBIC.

The delegation of Merchants Chamber comprising of Shri Prem Manohar Gupta, Advisor, Industry Committee, Shri Sushil Sharma, Chairman, Industry Committee, Shri Anil Sharan Garg, Vice-Chairman, Industry Committee, Shri Roofi Waki, Vice-Chairman, Export Import Committee and Shri Mahendra Modi, Secretary met Shri Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) & Export Promotion, Government of Uttar Pradesh to discuss the key issues and opportunities being faced by the MSMEs in the region. A memorandum was presented by the Chamber in the meeting and suggestions were put forward for the MSMEs.

Live interaction and screening of “Journey towards Developed India: Conference after Union Budget 2024-25” organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi graced the event as the Chief Guest. The conference highlighted key reform measures for the coming years, as outlined in the Union Budget, and collectively charted a path to a developed India.

Under the aegis of the Fiscal Committee, MCUP a program “Talk on Union Budget 2024-25” jointly with Kanpur Income Tax Bar Association and Kanpur Chartered Accountant Society was organized. The key note speaker of the program was CA Manoj Fadnis, Past President, ICAI.

A workshop on Export Documentation was organized by the Export-Import Committee of the Merchant Chamber of Uttar Pradesh jointly with Punjab National Bank. The Chief Guest of the workshop was Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, GM, PNB and guest of honor were Shri R K Soni, ITS, Director O/o Joint DGFT, Kanpur, Shri Rohit Kumar, IRS, Deputy Commissioner, Custom, ICD Panki and Shri Dhananjay Jha, ECGC.

A seminar on creating efficiencies in supply chain through digitization and finance for MSMEs was organised by the Industry committee of MCUP jointly with ASSOCHAM and L&T Institute.

Under the aegis of the GST Committee, a GST Workshop on "Recent Recommendations by GST Council 53rd Meeting" was held at Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Conference Hall, MCUP. The chief guest of the Workshop was Shri Gauri Shankar Singh, IRS, Commissioner CGST CE Kanpur.

Under the aegis of the Cultural Committee of MCUP, a play " Rehan Par Raghu'" was staged. The play, adapted by Raj Narayan Dixit based on the novel 'Rehan Par Raghu' written by the Sahitya Academy Award-winning storyteller Kashinath Singh.

A virtual meeting with Padamshri Muhammed KK was held at Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Conference Hall - "Archaeological Insights: Ram Janmabhoomi and Beyond with Padamshri Muhammed KK"

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with the Youth Work Association was held. The objective of this MOU is to establish a cooperative relationship between YWA and MCUP, fostering collaboration and mutual support for the benefit of both organizations

A GST Workshop on "Important Recent Issues Under GST" was held at Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Conference Hall, MCUP. The keynote speaker was Smt. Pooja Talwar, Advocate, High Court, Prayagraj.

A delegation from the Merchants Chamber, including Secretary Mahendra Modi, attended the first meeting of the 2022-23 session of the Mandal Rail Upyogkarta Paramarshdatri Samiti, Prayagraj. The meeting focused on reviewing the railway issues in the Prayagraj Division, discussing their resolutions, and assessing the progress of railway facilities. The session was conducted in a very positive atmosphere, and the suggestions provided by the Chamber were well-received and accepted.

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania, a Sharbat Vitran was organized for the general public, serving sweet and cold sharbat to approximately 4,000 passers-by. In the evening, the Cultural Committee of MCUP hosted a musical program titled "Bhoole Bisre Geet".

Under the aegis of the Health & Lifestyle Committee of the MCUP, a talk show titled "Never Give Up" by Dr. Awadh Prakash Dubey was organized.

Under the aegis of the GST Committee of the MCUP with Kanpur Income Tax Bar Association, A GST Workshop on “Arrest Proceedings during course of GST Search and subsequent Bail etc before CJM Court” was organised. The key note Speaker of the workshop was Adv. Chinmay Pathak, Criminal Cases Expert, Civil Court, Kanpur.

A delegation of Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh comprising of Manish Kataria, Chairman, Infrastructure Committee and Mahendra Modi, Secretary, talked to the Director, Airport Authority of India New Civil Airport Terminal, Kanpur in his office and gave a memorandum on behalf of the Chamber in which it was requested to provide round the clock ATC (watch tower) facility at Kanpur Airport, so that air connectivity of Kanpur with other cities like Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Vijayawada, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh etc. Flight facility can be available and flights for Delhi-Mumbai can also be arranged in the morning and evening.

Under the aegis of the Health and Lifestyle Management Committee, a talk on “Ageing Gracefully” an Event based Presentation by Dr. A S Prasad, SR. Joint Replacement Surgeon was organised.

The program “Insights and Perspective on Family Governance and Succession Planning” was organized by Dr. Aarti Gupta. The keynote speaker of the session was Shri Rishabh Shroff, Partner (Co-head – Private Client and Head – International Business Development) at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

A Conclave “Atmanirbhar Kanpur – Prospects and Challenges” was organized with CSJMU at University Campus.

5th meeting of GST Redressal Committee UP was held at Lucknow. Shri Santosh Kumar Gupta, Chairman GST Committee along with Shri Manish Kataria attended the meeting. Meeting was jointly co-chaired by Principal Chief Commissioner of Central GST and Central Excise Mr. Pramod Kumar, and Commissioner Commercial Tax UP Ms. Ministry S along with senior officials. In the meeting a representation in the shape of grievance being faced by GST registered dealer(s) submitted.

Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh in association with Kanpur Panchayat organised a programme, "221st Kanpur Diwas Samaroh”.

Under the aegis of the Fiscal Committee, a seminar on “Recent Provisions u/s 43B(h) of the Income Tax Act relating to MSME” was organized. CA Anjani Khetrapal was the Key Note Speaker of the session.

Under the aegis of the Corporate Affairs Committee of MCUP a half day seminar on “Fine/Penalties/Adjudication – Concept for Corporates under Companies Act" was jointly organized with the Kanpur Chapter of NIRC, ICSI. CS Shikhar Goel was the Key Note Speaker of the session.

An interactive session - "Destined for Greatness & Exploring Military Odyssey was organized in the honour of General M.M. Naravane ji (former Indian Army Chief).

Under the aegis of the GST Committee of the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh a GST Workshop on " Latest Amendments in GST Act and Departmental Guidelines" jointly with State GST Department was organised. The Chief Guest of the workshop was Shri G S Bonal Ji, Additional Commissioner Grade - 1 State GST Department. Other officials of the State GST Department were also graced the workshop.

Under the aegis of the Cultural Committee of the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh jointly with Rotary Club of Kanpur a play "Madhav Aaye" was successfully staged by Kalapunj Natya Sanstha Kanpur.

Information and Technology (IT) Committee of the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh organized a successful brainstorming seminar on "Artificial Intelligence for Businesses: Transforming your Operations and Growth". The Key note Speaker of the session was Mr. Nandan Mishra, CEO & Co-founder ALGO8 AI.

A talk show was organized by the Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh in the honor of (Retd.) Major Gaurav Arya (Indian Army Veteran, Founder of Chanakya Academy) “Cracking the Code: Major Gaurav Arya, Deciphers Indian Geopolitics”.

The inauguration of the fourth ground breaking ceremony (GBC) 4.0 being held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow was telecast live at Hotel Pristine, Kanpur. Shri Mahendra Nath Modi, Secretary, MCUP with other members of the Chamber has participated in the meeting.

Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh jointly with FICCI Flo organized a workshop on “Prevention of sexual Harassment (POSH) Laws”. Key note speaker of the Workshop was Smt. Amrreeta Swarup, (Advocate-on-Record) (Hon’ble Supreme Court).
