The Chamber has a history of acting as a positive bridge between the government and the business community, carrying the concerns of merchants and manufacturers into the rooms where policy is decided.

1932
The Chamber is born
Founded by Lala Kamlapat Singhania. Incorporated under Section 26 of the Indian Companies Act, 1913.
1933
Representation in London
Led evidence before the Joint Select Parliamentary Committee on Indian Constitutional Reforms.
1957
Silver Jubilee
PM Jawaharlal Nehru inaugurated the celebrations and praised the Chamber's self-less devotion.
1966
Industrialisation of UP
Two-day seminar inaugurated by CM Smt. Sucheta Kripalani. Reports on 149 industries presented.
1987
Golden Jubilee
PM Smt. Indira Gandhi inaugurated the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Chamber.
2008
Platinum Jubilee
President of India Smt. Pratibha Devi Patil addressed the members at the celebrations.
2010
Founder's 125th birthday
PM Dr. Manmohan Singh graced the 125th birth anniversary of Lala Kamlapat Singhania.
2022
90th Year Celebrations

Mehfil-e-Ghazal with Guru Yugantar Sindoor
The Cultural Committee of MCUP organized a grand special musical program, "Mehfil-e-Ghazal," at the Sir Padampat Singhania Auditorium. The evening was graced by renowned ghazal singer and musician Guru Yugantar Sindoor, recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award from the Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu. Mr. Devendra Pratap Singh, SDM, Unnao, was the Chief Guest.

Independence Day flag hoisting at the Chamber
The Merchants Chamber of Uttar Pradesh organized a flag-hoisting ceremony on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day. The flag was hoisted by Dr. I. M. Rohatgi, Past President. All members present sang the national anthem, saluted the tricolour with reverence, and sang Vande Mataram.

Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania birth anniversary: Sharbat Vitran and Anokhi Asha
On the birth anniversary of Late Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Ji, MCUP organized a Sharbat Vitran. In the evening the Cultural Committee's annual musical evening, now in its eleventh year, concluded with "Anokhi Asha," a tribute to the evergreen songs of Asha Bhosle.
